The Taming of the Cardboard Rhino

Once there was a cardboard rhino.

He was so mighty and fearsome.
That the villagers hid to conceal themselves from his wrath.
But their shelters were not enough to protect them.
After the attack, a small child was left behind.
The child set out across the grassy plains.
Into the lair of the cardboard rhino.
The rhino was angered.
And charged.
But the child, showing no fear, only smiled.
And the rhino, having never experienced kindness, halted his charge.
And he protected the child.
Together, they walked the plains.
The rhino, no longer angry, and the child, no longer alone.
