Croatan Furniture Set: Part I

Here is the first installment in my effort to create furniture for the cabin/studio/shed in Appomattox. The beginning of the set was a chair, to be built shortly. The chair was inspired by our dining chairs at Croatan. Pictured is a desk and a small side table.

P.S. The leaves in the feet of the cutout sketch were cut out of a real leaf!

Found Letter Comic

There are still a couple of minor changes I’m going to make, but this is basically done. I’m going to print it with one of those old fashioned photocopiers so that I can use thin paper more easily, and so the ink will soak into the paper better. The actual comic has black outlines around the panels and black text. You can see that in the first shot, but not the later scans.

I’ve been chuckling to myself over a new joke I made up inspired by some reading I’ve been doing for my class on Soviet History. Some folks feel bad for the USSR, feel like it could’ve accomplished some good things. But you know what they say!

Another shot of progress on my letter comic. This is an image of some panels and the original material mounted on a wall for this “open studios” thing that happened last friday. I finished all of my panel drawings and now I’m gonna add blue washes of watercolor or ink to them all.
